February 20, 2018 4:45 pm

Date:            Saturday, 3 March 2018

Time:           08:30 – 11:00, 11:30 – 14:00

Location:    Simar Nature Reserve

Join us at Simar Nature Reserve for a chance to observe and experience wildlife!

Let’s celebrate World Wildlife Day with a guided wildlife walk, bird ringing demonstration, birdwatching and a wildlife workshop!

There will be two sessions – the first one will be suitable for adults (08:30-11:00) and the second one (11:30-14:00) suitable for families and children (5-10).

Session 1 for Adults

08:30-10:00

We will start the day bright and early for the best time for birdwatching in March. During the guided walk, we will identify different species of animals and plants and discuss the complexity of life that we forget we are part of. Along the way, we will have a bird ringing demonstration and of course, do some birdwatching! You can also bring your cameras to take some photographs or videos to capture some of the moments – with care to not disturb the wildlife!

10:00-11:00

We will gather at the visitor’s centre for an educational talk on the hunting and trapping situation in Malta. Participants will learn how they can be more active to aid BirdLife Malta’s efforts to protect wildlife and their habitats. There will also be some time for Q&A and to share any ideas.

Participation

The event is free and open to all but BirdLife Malta members will be given priority.

Kind donations of any amount are welcome and help to support our work across the Maltese Islands.
