A special tour exploring the fossils and archeological wonders at one of Malta’s oldest prehistoric sites which is more than 500,000 years old. The Site Executive, Paul Portelli, will be our guide.
Għar Dalam, meaning ‘cave of darkness’ in Maltese, forms part of the Natura 2000 network of protected sites. Fossilised bones of dwarf elephants, hippopotami, micro-mammals, birds, as well as evidence of the first human settlement on the Island have been found here!
During this special evening we will have fresh food and drinks as well as games and activities from BirdLife Malta’s education team in a nearby garden which is home to indigenous plants and trees.
