Description
With summer coming to an end and the first much needed rains on the horizon we are glad to announce our 5th Nature Guardians course which will be held in Autumn. Starting in October 2024 the course will have twelve sessions, ending in January 2025. The key words for our nature guardian courses are simple – engage with nature, learn and have fun. The course programme is packed with new and exciting educational activities which will surely go down well with our nature guardians.
This course will see participants meet weekly on Saturday mornings (9am) at our Salina Nature Reserve. Some of the sessions will be held at Salina, whilst other sessions will take the group to Għadira Nature Reserve, Simar Nature Reserve and Foresta 2000. Transport costs, to and from the other sites is included in the course price. The twelve Saturday morning sessions start on the 26 October and end on the 11 January with a small certificate award ceremony. The sessions will run for three hours, starting at 9am and ending at noon.
The course will see a maximum of 12 participants guided by at least 2 BirdLife Malta staff members. Once more the course will be a mixture of fun, learning and hands-on work with the aim of connecting children with nature. Our dedicated staff members will nurture the importance of protecting our environment, delving into the fascinating world of soil, water, insects, mammals, plants and obviously birds.
The cost of the course, which includes a choice between a Nature Guardians T-shirt and cap OR Nature Guardians hoodie, is €260. If you’d like to receive both hoodie and T-shirt, simply send us an email to let us know, and you can pay an additional amount in cash on the first session. Booking will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of only 12 children accepted, so hurry up and complete the application and payment.
