Dinja Waħda Secondary is an environmental education programme for sustainability.
It aims to connect young people with nature, create opportunities for critical thinking about the impact of our lifestyle on the environment, and to inspire action to address these issues.
How does it work?
The Dinja Waħda secondary programme consists of three different categories:
- Action for Biodiversity which aims to enhance Malta’s biodiversity and serve as a learning platform for outdoor education
- Connecting with Nature which aims to build a relationship between children and nature that generates knowledge about and care for the natural environment
- Outreach for awareness which aims to build an understanding of the complexity of environmental sustainability issues and develop skills for taking action through raising awareness
Participating schools can win gold, silver or bronze awards for completing actions in each category. The awards are based on commitment to biodiversity and sustainability education.
