BirdLife Malta is currently collaborating with The Malta Girl Guides to produce four brand new nature badges. The badges are designed to promote exploring and protecting the outdoors through hands-on learning.
There is a badge for each section which comes with easily accessible online resources and even volunteer training so you and your section can get the most out of the new resources.
You can also complete parts of the Biodiversity Challenge during a visit to a reserve or arrange a pre-visit to your guide centre!

The Nature Explorer Badge has been designed for the youngest section and focuses on individuals exploring and connecting with the natural world.

The Nature Protector Badge promotes Rangers learning about, raising awareness and helping to contribute to local conservation projects.
Rangers can also get involved in many more ways. Volunteer at a reserve, Create a program for the community or learn about policy and our impact on the environment during a boat trip or night hike to see Malta’s seabirds*.
BirdLife Malta is also looking to further develop its Action For Nature Program to include Girl Guides.
*Only available during January, February, March and April as this is when the birds are on the cliffs. Subject to weather conditions and lunar cycles (Bright full moon will prevent the birds from calling because they are more vulnerable to predators).

Salina Nature Reserve
Senior Rangers
Senior Rangers can get involved with BirdLife Malta in many ways. Why not volunteer at a reserve. Come on a boat trip or night hike to see some of Malta’s seabirds* or help with our Spring Watch and Raptor Camp.
18-30 year olds are also welcome to come along to our monthly Falko events. These range from walks in the countryside to snorkelling off the coast of Gozo.
We are also looking to further develop our Action For Nature Program to include different sections and other youth groups such as The Malta Girl Guides.
