Only for BirdLife Malta members! Free, registration required
BirdLife Malta members are invited to join us for a special evening visit to Simar Nature Reserve in search of the Mediterranean Chameleon.
As daylight fades, participants will explore the reserve with our team and learn about the chameleon’s behaviour, camouflage and relationship with its habitat. Using red-light torches, we will carefully examine suitable vegetation and practise the observation techniques used to locate chameleons resting at night.
The activity is suitable for families and offers participants an opportunity to experience the atmosphere and wildlife of Simar Nature Reserve outside normal opening hours.
Participants who own a torch with a red-light setting are encouraged to bring it. A limited number of suitable torches will also be provided.
Participation is free, however, please register here! Please note that this event is for members only. Not a member? Become one here!
Registration required: https://forms.gle/shiGoVJtXQ56YgZj9
The activity may be postponed or cancelled in case of unsuitable weather conditions.
Please remember that Simar is a nature reserve and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Participants will nevertheless have the opportunity to explore the reserve after dark and learn more about its nocturnal environment.
