What is World Wetlands Day?
World Wetlands Day is celebrated annually on 2nd February to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands. Wetlands are vital ecosystems that protect biodiversity, store carbon, provide clean water, and act as natural buffers against flooding and erosion.
For one day, Salina Wetland—normally open only for events—will be open to the public! Come visit anytime between 08:00 – 16:00 and stay for as long as you like.
Birdwatching Highlights – You might spot wintering birds like Kingfishers, Little Egrets, Black Redstarts, and Stonechats.
This is a free, open day to appreciate the wetland, its biodiversity, and the natural beauty it offers.
No RSVP needed – just come and enjoy!
