Date: Thursday, 21 December 2023
Time: 10:00-18:00
Location: Majjistral Nature & History Park (Visitor Centre)
BirdLife Malta’s LIFE PanPuffinus! project is thrilled to announce a joint event with Majjistral Nature & History Park to promote two young and talented artists and biologists, and at the same time wonder and raise awareness about seabird conservation!
Join us for an art-themed event at Majjistral Nature & History Park, just four days before Christmas, to celebrate seabirds and nature through art.
This festive celebration will be held at the park’s visitor centre on Thursday 21st December from 10:00 to 18:00, with a number of presentations taking place throughout the day led by our guest artists and biologists Anne-Marie Austad and Marc Schruoffeneger. Feel free to drop by any time and chat with us during the day. To attend any of the presentations, please fill in the booking form by clicking on the button below, and select the presentation(s) you wish to attend.
Anne-Marie Austad was born and grew up in Malta and she is now field researcher for the Norwegian Polar Institute on Bear Island. In her free time she loves painting her enthusiasm about birds.
Marc Schruoffeneger is a French seabird research officer with BirdLife Malta’s seabird team, and one of his passions is to draw the beauty of our biodiversity.
All day on Thursday 21st December, they will expose their incredible art, but you will also be able to learn more about seabirds with three different presentations.
- 11:00 LIFE PanPuffinus! and Yelkouan Shearwaters at Majjistral Park
- 14:00 Seabirds and research on a remote Arctic island
- 16:00 Seabirds and biodiversity through the eyes of an artist
This event is free and will be open to everyone. During the day artistic works produced by Anne-Marie and Marc will be available for sale, with 20% of the proceeds donated to Majjistral Nature & History Park.
