Become a Nature Guardian! Enrol for our Nature Guardians summer course.
Have you ever wondered what is feels like to manage a nature reserve, getting your hands dirty with habitat management work and also learning interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the place through research?
Well now you can! Following the resounding success of our first course in autumn 2022 and the second one in spring 2023, we will now be running our Nature Guardians summer programme, with two courses – one this July and the other in August-September.
- Course 1
3rd July to 31st July 2023
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 5pm-8pm
- Course 2
2nd August to 6th September 2023 (with a break for Sta Marija week)
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 5pm-8pm
If you are aged 7 to 11 years and have a keen interest in nature, then our Nature Guardians Warden for a Day course is tailor-made for you. Running for 13 sessions, the course will take a group of 20 children (per course) on a fun-learning mission at our four nature reserves: Simar, Salina, Għadira and Foresta 2000.
Under the guidance and supervision of BirdLife Malta staff, the group will learn how to monitor water quality, how to plan and roll out habitat restoration plans and how to care for nature in the best possible way.
Applications are now open. The cost of €250 covers all 13 sessions and includes a free t-shirt and cap with the Nature Guardians logo. Meeting point will always be Salina Nature Reserve.
To enrol fill in the form below, first selecting the course you prefer (July or August-September). Following this, you can proceed to finalise your booking by paying the fee online.
