Have you ever wondered what is feels like to manage a nature reserve, getting your hands dirty with habitat management work and also learning interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the place through research?
Well now you can! Following the resounding success of our first two courses in autumn 2022 and the second one in spring this year, we will now be running our Nature Guardians autumn programme again for 2023 with the course starting in the second week of October and running for 12 consecutive Saturdays (with a break for the Christmas holidays) until January 2024 (see the calendar below).

On Saturday 20th January 2024, a closing ceremony event will then be held at Salina during which certificates of accomplishment will be presented to all participants.
COURSE DETAILS
If you are aged 7 to 12 years and have a keen interest in nature, then our Nature Guardians Warden for a Day course is tailor-made for you. Running for 12 sessions, the course will take a group of 12 children (per course) on a fun-learning mission at our four nature reserves: Simar, Salina, Għadira and Foresta 2000.
Under the guidance and supervision of BirdLife Malta staff, the group will learn how to monitor water quality, how to plan and roll out habitat restoration plans and how to care for nature in the best possible way.
APPLICATIONS
Applications are now open and will close on Friday 15th September (or before, if fully-booked). The cost of €260 covers all 12 sessions and includes a free T-shirt and cap or Hoodie with the Nature Guardians logo. Meeting point will always be Salina Nature Reserve and when necessary, transport to the other nature reserves (included in the fee) will be provided by BirdLife Malta.
