Date: Sunday, 12 June 2022
Time: 08:30-10:30
Location: Foresta 2000 Nature Reserve
Falko, BirdLife Malta’s youth group, will be meeting as part of the Erasmus+ It’s Time! project to learn and engage in some citizen science. During this event we will be carrying out the first annual Aleppo Pine survey at Foresta 2000. This species is being badly affected by climate change, but by mapping the trees and monitoring the health of the population we can understand how to protect them.
Foresta 2000 Nature Reserve offers beautiful views of Għadira Bay, and hosts a diverse range of reptiles, butterflies, plants and birds.
Do bring along your cameras and/or binoculars because there will undoubtedly be plenty of opportunities to use them! Also bring a smartphone to learn how we can use GPS mapping in citizen science projects.
