BirdLife Malta’s biggest annual event, Walk for Nature, is just around the corner!

This super popular fundraising walk event will this year start at Buskett, then we will head up to Dingli Cliffs, along to Il-Kappella tal-Lunzjata then cut back through the countryside to Buskett. This walk is around 8km, and includes some steep declines, uneven terrain and long shallow inclines.

This year – BirdLife Malta’s 60th anniversary year – we are fundraising to improve the breeding grounds for Little Ringed Plovers, especially at Għadira Nature Reserve, where they often breed. To improve the grounds we estimate we need €1,500. So let’s get fundraising to ensure these beautiful birds have safe and convenient breeding grounds here in Malta!

The children who raise at least €5 will be given a goody bag and at the end of the walk there will be a prize-giving ceremony in which the highest three fundraisers will win awards for their amazing sponsorship efforts!

  • The first prize will be a wildlife kit equipped with binoculars, an eye loupe and ID guides.
  • Second place will be a bundle of nature-based books for children, lovingly donated by Merlin Publishers.
  • Third place will be a soft toy and colouring-in book.

All top three prizes come with vouchers, kindly donated by Esplora

To join us and to get a sponsorship sheet, please click on the button below and fill in the form. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as the walk is long with some uneven terrain.

We know that the day of our Walk for Nature 2022 will be during the election weekend in Malta! So, after the stress of selecting your favourite candidates and before the anxiety of the results come out, why not join us on our nature walk to relax and enjoy what really matters after all!
