Our Events & Activities Group are organising their first day trip to Sicily for the new year! Our destination will be Vendicari Nature Reserve, one of the most beautiful wetland areas on Sicily.
The walk will commence from the main entrance located in the south of the reserve and proceed to the north along the coast past Spiaggia Marianelli. Other than its flora, the area is a refuge for many fauna species including White-winged tern, Gull-billed tern, Eurasian Spoonbills, flamingos and Squacco and Purple Herons, amongst others.
The day trip also includes a late lunch at Farmhouse Torre Vendicari in Modica and will include antipasti, starters, main courses, dessert, wine and water. After lunch we will be visiting the historical town of Noto.
The walk is easy–to–medium and mostly off–road. Suitable footwear is recommended.
Meeting Point & Time:
We will meet at Virtu Ferries Passenger Terminal, Marsa at 03:45 and check-in at 04:00. The catamaran will depart Malta at 05:00 and return to Malta at 22:30.
Participation:
Open to all +14 and places limited to 50 participants.
Price:
- €140 for members
- €160 for non-members
Price is inclusive of catamaran fare, port charges, coach transport, lunch, guides and tips.
In the event of a cancellation, a fee of €25 will be charged.
Booking:
Booking is open until Friday, 28th February 2020 (unless taken up before) and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
