Our Events & Activities Group is organising another trip to Sicily, and this time round it will be a long weekend trip departing on Thursday and returning on Sunday!
The programme we have planned for this trip includes nature walks to a number of nature reserves, and the trip is being organised in conjunction with Legambiente. Here is the schedule for the weekend:
- Day 1, Thursday 21/3: Visit to Cava Carosello
- Day 2, Friday 24/3: Visit to Cava Grande
- Day 3, Saturday 25/3: Visit to Valle del’Anapo
- Day 4, Sunday 26/3: Visit to the beautiful peninsula of Ortygia, Syracuse
Meeting point & time
Our meeting point on Thursday, 21 March will be at the Departures Lounge of the Malta International Airport at 4:30 to check in for the early Air Malta flight to Catania which leaves at 6:00. The return flight will be on Sunday, 24 March in the evening, arriving in Malta at 23:30.
Lodging
We will be staying at Borgo degli Ulivi, an Agriturismo which is situated in Palazzolo Acreide (Syracuse).
Participation
Open to all, but BirdLife Malta members will be given priority.
Fee
- Singles: €390 per person
- Couples: €375 per person
Fee is inclusive of air travel, board and lodging on half-board basis, together with all transport and the services of a tour leader. Packed lunches are extra for Days 2 and 3 at €8 each (additional cost of €16). Meal is NOT included on Sunday (departure day).

Interested participants are to book immediately. Places are very limited, so we advise those who intend to join us to get in contact with us as soon as possible to reserve their seat. Booking will only be open until this coming Monday, 28 January 2019.
