Date: Sunday, 29 October 2017
Time: 10:00–16:00
Location: Simar Nature Reserve
Join us to celebrate the opening of our Simar Nature Reserve for the 2017/2018 season!
For the first part of the day there will be different activities for families during our Family morning (see timetable below), whilst for the second part the reserve will be open for the general public for birdwatching.
Come and explore the natural world with a fun family session from 10am to 1pm. There will be a range of fun and interactive activities stationed throughout the reserve and along the nature trail, which will include:
- Birdwatching with a guide
- Ringing demonstrations
- ‘Magic of Stories’ storytelling session
- Scavenger hunts
- Crafts
- Face painting
- Games for all ages.
After this time, the reserve will then be open to the public from 1pm to 4pm, however only some self-led activities will be available at this time.
During this event groups will be able to move around the reserve in their own time visiting different activities, so there is no need to book beforehand.
Entrance will be free but any donation would be appreciated.
This Open Day and the one at Għadira Nature Reserve the day before will mark the reopening of our nature reserves after the summer break. From the following weekend (Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November) both nature reserves will be open again for the public every weekend between 10am and 4pm (Simar is open on Saturdays, Għadira on Saturdays and Sundays).
