Looking for a unique and memorable way to celebrate birthdays, graduations, family reunions, and more? BirdLife Malta offers special event packages that provide the perfect setting for any occasion, all within the beautiful and serene Maltese nature reserves.
On Saturdays, you can now book our Simar or Salina Nature Reserves and spend from 30 minutes to three hours enjoying nature and handicraft activities. Morning and afternoon slots are available for booking; the precise time can be discussed upon placing your booking.
Our Nature Celebration programs guarantee a deep connection with nature, including time spent exploring and learning about the natural world in Malta’s nature reserves away from the daily hustle and bustle of traffic and work. Complementing this are hands-on craft sessions where you can create handmade gifts and let your imagination loose. These creative activities allow you and your guests to make unique handmade gifts, providing you with the opportunity to express your creativity and take home a special moment from your celebration.
The event is split in two: a site tour (which can be done in a traditional format or as a treasure hunt), and a craft session. See below the list of crafts you can make! We will provide tables, water, kettle, cups and cutlery so you can enjoy your cake and tea at the end of your nature exploration.

Activities price list
The activity’s price is split up into two parts: the basic cost of the venue inclusive of the tour, and the cost of the craft session, depending on the number of people and the event’s duration.

For example, if you would like to book an event at Simar Nature Reserve for 10 people with tote bag painting for a 2–2.5 hour slot (tour + craft + time for tea and cake), the cost will be €180 (venue) + €80 (10 x €8) = €260.

Duration: 1–1.5 hrs.
Get your hands dirty by planting seeds in pots that you decorate yourself. This activity combines gardening fun with a creative twist. Depending on the age of participants, we can focus more on gardening or the creative aspects.
Nature journal crafting
Duration: 1 hr.
Create your own nature journal to document your observations and adventures. This activity is perfect for budding naturalists and anyone who loves to explore the outdoors. Journaling in your customized book also encourages mindfulness, enhances your connection with nature, and boosts creativity.
