A project aimed at securing the Maltese Islands for the Yelkouan Shearwater, a small shearwater species that can only be found in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean region.

The trapping of wild birds has a serious impact on the breeding populations of these birds, but also on the habitats where trapping takes place.

Yelkouan Shearwaters are one of Malta's few breeding seabirds and so protecting the areas where these birds breed is extremely important.
