Date: Friday, 18 August 2023
Time: 19:00-21:00
Location: Salina Nature Reserve
On the 21st of July, the first evening session of Sip, Savour and Soak in Nature was held at Salina Nature Reserve. A good number of people braved the heat and the traffic and were entertained to two fantastic presentations, thankfully in a fully airconditioned environment! Raymond Galea, BirdLife Malta member, ornithologist and bird ringer, gave those present an insight into the variety of bird species one can observe in the Maltese Islands. Prof. Mark Anthony Falzon followed that up with incredible pictures and information of an underwater life we often tend to miss out on. After the presentations those present enjoyed the evening socializing with some food and wine prepared for the evening.
Our next event in this series of summer get-togethers, which will be again held at Salina Nature Reserve, will happen on Friday 18th August starting at 7pm and finishing at around 9pm.
Once again we will be covering two very different but equally interesting topics. Stanley Gatt from the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) will give us an overview of the history of environmental legislation in the Maltese Islands, focusing on habitat and bird protection. Well-renowned wildlife photographer Mr Guido Bonett will follow up with a presentation titled “Eight legs, six legs, four legs and no legs too”, through which he will take us on a journey in the fascinating world of insects, reptiles and amphibians, amongst others.
Once more entrance is totally free and open to all. Please mark yourself as ‘GOING’ on our Facebook event so that we get an indication of how many participants we should expect! Following the presentations, participants can then unwind on the Salina terrace where drinks will be served.
