Date: Friday, 21 July 2023
Time: 19:00-21:00
Location: Salina Nature Reserve
BirdLife Malta is happy to invite you to the first in a series of get-togethers being held this summer at our Salina Nature Reserve. This will be an evening which will feature some interesting presentations.
The first such event will be held on Friday 21st July starting at 7pm. The first presentation will be by ornithologist, bird ringer and birdwatcher Raymond Galea and will feature ‘Bird migration in the Maltese Islands for the first six months of the year’. Raymond will present a variety of lovely and colourful photos depicting bird migration in the past months and will surely wet the appetite for the upcoming migration season.
The second presentation will be by Prof. Mark-Anthony Falzon and will take us into the fantastic world of snorkelling. Prof. Falzon – who is a social anthropologist – recently published a book on the fishes and marine animals of the Maltese Islands (co-authored with Professor Patrick J Schembri) and we look forward to learning more about this in his presentation.
After the presentations drinks and refreshments will be available and people can enjoy the rest of the evening and the peaceful ambience of Salina.
Attendance is free and the event is open to all. Please mark yourself as ‘GOING’ on our Facebook event so that we get an indication of how many participants we should expect!
Similar evenings will also be organised on the 4th and 18th of August with details of the upcoming presentations to be announced shortly.
