Date: Saturday, 18 September 2021
Time: 07:30–10:00
Location: Għadira Bay
To mark World Clean-Up Day on Saturday, 18 September 2021, BirdLife Malta will be teaming up with the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning‘s Saving Our Blue campaign for a beach clean-up of Għadira Bay.
As Malta’s largest sandy beach, Għadira Bay is one of the most popular destinations for tourists and locals alike. With popularity comes litter. So, we aim to come together to make this gorgeous beach litter-free and spotless. Such clean-ups are vital in protecting Malta’s marine and coastal wildlife as they constantly face the threat of human-caused pollution.
This is a big beach to clean, so the more people on board, the better. All you need to do is bring some gloves/litter pickers, a sunhat, sun cream and plenty of water. Hand sanitiser and bin bags will be provided.
To confirm your attendance please email [email protected] with the subject line ‘Għadira Bay Clean-up’. Please provide your name, contact number and confirmation that you are vaccinated.
Let’s be part of the solution, not the pollution!
