Date: Tuesday, 8 June 2021
Time: 20:00–21:00
Location: Salina Nature Reserve & Online (Zoom)
Join us as we participate in the annual celebration of World Ocean Day which has been held every year since 2003 on the 8th June. On this day, people everywhere are encouraged to celebrate and take action for our shared ocean, which connects us all.
We invite you to join us for a film screening of 100 Days of Vitamin Sea – a film that not only celebrates the wonders of the ocean, but also highlights the physical and mental health benefits that blue spaces give. 100 Days of Vitamin Sea documents the journey Beth and her partner Andy had in their attempt to regain health and connect with the natural environment around them. This film was made over the winter of 2017/18 and follows the pair as they immersed themselves every day for 100 days in the cold sea in North Wales! Watch the film trailer to find out more.
This event will also be launching our partnership with the Saving Our Blue campaign, a campaign launched by the Ministry for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning aimed at educating and encouraging the public to stop littering, reduce waste and opt for alternative products to single-use plastics. After the film screening, we will be sharing the details of upcoming clean-ups that we will be leading throughout the summer in Malta!
For this event we will be offering two ways for you to join us!
Join us in person:
We are happy to be able to welcome a small number of people to watch the film in person on our large screen at our Salina Nature Reserve.
