Date: Thursday, 22 November 2018
Time: 19:00-22:00
Location: Salina Nature Reserve
Join us at Salina Nature Reserve to learn about light pollution, an important issue which is often neglected. This kind of pollution can be detrimental to human health, interfere with the natural cycles of wildlife and is unfavourable for astronomy sightings to say the least.
In this session we will have Ryan Vella, a recent graduate who researched this topic; Alexei Pace from the Light Pollution Awareness Group; and two members from our LIFE Arċipelagu Garnija project, Martin Austad and James Crymble; speaking about the diverse effects of light pollution. Afterwards, join us for a brief observation session together with members from the Astronomical Society of Malta!
This event is a collaboration between ADŻ Green Youth Malta, BirdLife Malta, LIFE Arċipelagu Garnija, Salina Nature Reserve and The Astronomical Society of Malta.
