Date: Saturday, 15 September 2018
Time: 08:30 – 13:00
Location: San Lawrenz Dwejra, Gozo
Be a bird hero and help us clean the litter from San Lawrenz Dwejra in Gozo!
This area is one of Malta’s Natura 2000 protected sites and hosts threatened habitats and species. Seabirds also breed in the sea cliffs surrounding Dwejra every year so it is important to keep the area litter-free as to not attract predators! In fact all three Maltese seabird species nest here, with up to 200 pairs of Yelkouan Shearwater, over 500 pairs of Scopoli’s Shearwater and even around 50 pairs of Mediterranean Storm-Petrel. Our clean-up efforts will be well worth making the homes for all these birds safer!
On the day, kindly bring your own reusable gloves and reusable water bottles for water refill.

This event is in collaboration with our LIFE Arċipelagu Garnija and part of the World Cleanup Day thanks to the help of Let’s Do It Malta.
LIFE Arċipelagu Garnija is a BirdLife Malta EU-funded project that aims at securing the Maltese Islands for the Yelkouan Shearwater.
