Book a slot at one of the photography hides at our nature reserves! We now have two hides available at Għadira Nature Reserve and one at Simar.
For more details see the description further down. To book and bay, pick your combination below:
1. Choose your preferred RESERVE HIDE
2. Select between MEMBER and NON-MEMBER (if you are a BirdLife Malta member, you will be prompted to insert the Membership Number later on in the relevant field under ‘Billing Details’ during checkout)
3. Choose the DAY you want to book
4. Pick the TIME SLOT
5. Proceed to checkout page by clicking ADD TO BASKET.
Please note that you can only book each time slot once and that you cannot book ahead for more than one week – at the end of the current week all bookings will be reset. To gain access to the hide, please present the receipt you will receive by email as soon as you book and pay! The management reserves the right to refuse entry to the hide/s if the documentation is not produced on request. Please note that bookings are only taken online and no bookings will be taken at the reserve.
Description
Interested in nature photography? Now you can book one of our photographic hides located at Għadira Nature Reserve and Simar Nature Reserve respectively and try your luck at getting some memorable photos. Għadira has two hides available, with the first hide ideal for waders and water birds whilst the other hide located in the Tamarisk grove is better for smaller passerines, Moorhen and Water Rail (in winter). The hide at Simar overlooks the reservoir area and its best potential is in winter with good photos for Common Kingfisher, Water Rail, Moorhen and Common Coot a possibility.
Booking for a one-hour session (starting on the hour) is required against a donation of €2 for members and €5 for non-members. Booking times are as follows:
- Għadira hides: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 2pm-5pm (4 slots in total at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm) in summer, 2pm-4pm (3 slots in total at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm) in winter, and Saturdays & Sundays 10am-3pm (6 slots in total at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm). Terms & conditions apply.
