Malta Breeding Bird Atlas 2008

While much has been published on Malta’s avifauna, Malta Breeding Bird Atlas 2008 is the first publication to map the island-wide distribution of the country’s breeding birds. Using methodologies and classifications that have also been adopted in other European Atlas projects, the results presented in this Atlas create an important benchmark for future studies and publications. It provides a standard approach to assess changes in breeding bird populations and distributions. Understanding these changes will be critical if Malta is to safeguard its breeding birds in the future.
